Bringing the Farm to the Table: Chef Luke Volosin at the Floyd County Chamber Luncheon

We kicked off the year doing what we love most—bringing thoughtful, farm-driven food straight to the table.

Our own Chef Luke Volosin opened the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce Member Luncheon by cooking a menu that truly reflected Deer Park Farm: seasonal, intentional, and rooted in ingredients grown, made, and preserved right here on the farm.

This wasn’t just a catered lunch. It was a snapshot of how we cook every day.


A Menu Grown at the Farm

Much of the luncheon featured ingredients harvested, preserved, or crafted on-site, allowing each dish to speak for itself:

  • Pasta Primavera made with our house pasta and pasta sauce, finished with broccoli grown on the farm

  • Marry Me Chicken finished with sun-dried tomato powder made in-house

  • Golden Italian Vinaigrette using Palestinian grape vinegar and olive oil

  • House-Made Focaccia crafted with Beit Ummar Fair Trade Palestinian olive oil and the same flour blend used for our pasta (King Arthur Special Patent flour and Caputo semolina from Italy)

  • Seasonal Farm Salad featuring lemon thyme, beets, cowboy candy carrots, fresh radish, pickled onions, and compressed apples

  • Herbed Buttermilk Dressing made with herbs grown and preserved on the farm

Every detail was intentional, from the sourcing of the olive oil to the preservation methods used to extend the life of the harvest.


Why It Matters

At Deer Park Farm, we believe great food doesn’t need to be complicated. It needs to be honest.

Thoughtful sourcing, seasonal ingredients, and respect for the process are at the heart of everything we do. When food is grown with care and prepared with purpose, it doesn’t need much dressing up—it speaks for itself.
