Happy Spring from Deer Park Farm
Spring has arrived, and at Deer Park Farm, it is easily our favorite season.
This is the time of year when the farm starts to come alive again. The greenhouses begin to fill, the fields start waking up, and the work of a new growing season begins. After winter, spring brings fresh energy back to every part of the farm, and it is where so much of what we do starts.
Located in Pilot, Virginia, just outside Floyd, Deer Park Farm is rooted in growing, making, and sharing good food with our community. Spring is especially meaningful here because it is the season that lays the foundation for so many of the products our customers enjoy throughout the year. What begins in the greenhouse and out in the fields eventually becomes part of the small-batch goods we make right here on the farm.
From peppers and cucumbers to herbs and other fresh produce, the growing season plays a direct role in the flavors that end up in our kitchen. Those ingredients become part of the farm-made products Deer Park Farm is known for, including hot sauces, pickles, and other fresh, flavorful favorites. There is something special about watching that process begin in spring, knowing that what is being planted now will later make its way to your table.
Our greenhouses are a big part of that story. They help us get an early start and give us the space to carefully tend what is growing before the season fully stretches out into the fields. As temperatures warm, the work expands outdoors, and the fields become just as important to the rhythm of the farm. Every step takes planning, patience, and care, but that is part of what makes this season so exciting.

From what is happening in the greenhouses to what is taking shape in the fields, the growing operation is at the heart of what we do. It is the beginning of the ingredients, products, and flavors we are proud to share with our customers.
